Role Description

As an Asset Management Analyst, you will be part of a regional investment team, covering Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities or FX. You'll be working under a head Portfolio Manager (PM), and covering one of the above asset classes for one of the 3 regions:
  • Emerging Market
  • Europe (including the UK)
  • US
You will gain technical understanding such as:
Macroeconomic analysis – inflation, interest rates, economic growth and central-bank policy
Fundamental & valuation analysis – company/asset fundamentals, earnings and valuation metrics
Market trends & technical analysis – price movements and momentum
Relative value & risk analysis - comparing assets and identifying potential opportunities, catalysts and key risks
A great role for someone analytical, curious and interested in financial markets, with the opportunity to gain practical experience in portfolio management and develop the ability to turn market research into actionable investment ideas. No previous asset management experience is required, but a genuine interest in markets and willingness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Researching your assigned asset class and regional market, keeping up with relevant macroeconomic and financial news
  • Developing and presenting tactical trade proposals to your Head PM (Portfolio Manager) and Head of AM (Asset Management) at least once a month
  • Contributing to portfolio construction, including investment selection, position sizing and investment rationale
  • Monitoring portfolio performance and discussing key drivers of returns and risks during weekly team meetings
  • Using StockTrak and Excel to track positions, portfolio weights and performance
  • Collaborating with analysts across different asset classes to understand how ideas interact within a multi-asset portfolio
